The French pattern ” Ooh la la, la France!” is about what we love most about this country. So if you cannot go to France let France comes to you.
The first block is about food, bread and the lovely cafés. The second block is about the famous Tour de France and some icons like the famous Citroên. The third block will transport you to Giverny and Monet with a little “clin d’oeil” to Degas and Van Gogh.
I did not forget the Eiffel Tower which is right in the centre of the quilt. And because Paris is one of the most romantic city in the World a couple of lovers is walking in the park nearby.
But France is also about the south and Provence, the little villages built on top of steep hills. Who hasn’t walked in the open air markets with their braided garlics… Also the Mediteranée and her beaches full of umbrellas and laughters.
And don’t forget the fashion, the perfumes all featuring in block 7.
We cannot miss the castles, so famous it is hard to choose just one, but Chenonceau and Versailles are probably the most known. I have settle for some of the gardens of Versailles and the iron gate. And the ever present Fleur de Lys.
The French pattern “Ooh la la, la France!” is a scrappy quilt with some needle turn appliqué and lots of simple embroidery. You can add your own touch to it if you have been to France and put some of your memories in it.
With this quilt you will travel while stitching at home and enjoy every step of the way.
