Spring

Spring hasn’t  sprung it has exploded. Flowers and buds everywhere, even butterflies! And mosquitos ( a bit early ?). The air smells of flowers, the sun is warm, we can hear  lawn mowers. And the black birds are having a recital every morningSpring

My seedlings are looking healthy, the bees are very busy building and the queen is keeping up with the demands for new working bees…

As for quilting… my newest venture “La vie d’un jardinier”, couldn’t call it weeds as a garden is more than that, is finished for the first part and will be available as a online block of the month (BOM) from the 1st of November. This quilt is mainly appliqué with embroideries. It celebrates nature, the garden and the seasons. Later on I will offer it with a monthly class to help you with choosing the fabrics as well as embroidery or appliqué techniques.

Sign of times I am starting teaching online, until we can meet again face to face. The first class will be on the 23 of October with the beehive block for “The Bee Quilt”. Only 10 places…. You will need to purchase the pattern if you don’t have one already. But it will be available as a download in my shop.

As for the lovers of reproduction style quilts and fabrics “Toujours Provence” will be available at the end of September. I loved “Provence” so much especially the big sunflowers it called for a second but bigger quilt. Using some gorgeous fabrics from Petra Print it reflects the warmth of the south of France. With some lovely appliqué blocks, set on point, appliqué corners and a scalloped edge, this pattern will delight you.

Classes

It has been a long time since my last post, first a Happy New Year, lots of sewing and laughter.

After a nice break, lots being done in the garden, and I even managed to finish 2 quilts ( shall I start 2 more?).

There are few exciting news for me this year; I am going to start teaching once a month at Sewn and Quilted in Blackburn, but if you prefer you could join me in Nantes for a class at the Quiltmania Salon ” Pour l’amour du fil” or why not coming at The Quilt Shop in Eltham and learn how to make The ChOok Quilt ?

Plenty of opportunities for me to meet some of you….

Cheers

P.S : my son took the picture of the blue banded bee ( native bee) on the banner

,

A bientôt
