Jardin de Poche – ONLINE CLASS-

This delightful and small project is for both embroiderers and appliqué enthusiasts. A traditional shape, the orange peel, revisited and extended to include a mini garden, a “Jardin de Poche” (pocket garden). Whilst keeping the embroidery to 3 or 4 of the most traditional stitches  you will make some gorgeous flowers such as poppies ( my favorites), lilly of the valley , fuchsias, lavender, just to name some.

We all have a lovely stash of embroidery threads that we are dying to use in a project, and this is the perfect opportunity. In a working style booklet I have given some suggestions for the colours of the flowers but after it is your garden so you need to choose your colours’ scheme. And there is even a section per flowers for you to right which threads and colours you are using for each specific flower.

The appliqué is  simple, but it’s all in the fabrics ! Lovely Liberty lawns and 1930’s to give that fresh and timeless look.

The whole project is on a linen/coton background, the perfect setting for Liberty fabrics and embroidery. As for the quilting the word is KISS ( keep it simple s…).

In this online class I will be showing different ways of appliqué, teach or refresh the embroidery stitches used in the project, help with colour choices and any questions you might have about this project.

A special block will be designed for this workshop.

The cost for the 3hrs workshop is $50. Email me if you would like to register.

FOR USA 8th of October at 5PM (CDT)

Still Winter, Still Wet

First a big apologies to all my customers who have place an order on the website. I have moved to a new version of WordPress and new look, and we (my IT person and me) didn’t to tick some of the boxes and cross the other ones…. anyway it is all running now and ready for you.

On a personal note my daughter has come back from a month in Switzerland ( so nice to have her again) and my son is up to his ears in getting ready for final exams..

As for quilting I am currently working on few (too many) projects at once, one of them with bees (that’s the only tit bit of information you’ll get!) which I cannot put down…. so much fun.

I had never mentioned it ( still amazed) but Di Ford-Hall has appointed me to look after her class at Sewn and Quilted and the shop will be running a fundraising event for the Leukaemia Research Foundation, jump online to see how you can help

Anyhow today is still too cold to do anything in the garden so back to sewing 🙂

The Ch0oks/ les p0ules

After coming back from the Sydney show I thought it would be a good idea to have a break and make a small quilt without a pattern and using most of my bright modern fabrics. It never turns the way you want. It is a BIG quilt, you can buy the pattern and I have another plastic container with more bright modern fabrics. I hope you’ll like it as much as I do…
