It has been too long since my last post, sorry. I am slowly finding my rhythm again….
Ok ,I went to the Quilt Market and Quilt Festival in Houston with a detour in between to teach my “Pêle-Mêle ” pattern in a lovely spot in Florida, Stuart. It was the highlight of my two weeks in the States. Jennifer from Redthread studio http://redthreadstudio organised my stay and it was magnificent, I met some lovely ladies and saw more inspirations for PM no 3 ( if I can get to it)!
The Quilt Market and Festival were awesome, an eye opener. The American quilters are different, I learned a lot, got some ideas and was quite surprised to found out there are some who are quite scared of needle turn appliqué. The Quilts on display were gorgeous, a lot done on domestic or long arm, and their Sapphire Celebration very inspiring. By the way I believe that our AQC show in April is as good as the Houston Show, on a smaller scale of course…
Back home I had to face a jungle ( the garden) busy bees ( they behaved and didn’t swarm) an 18yr old ( my son) going through final exams and schoolies ( glad it’s over) and a very messy sewing room with so many projects on the go it’s depressing…. so I started a new one ( small).
But the good news is “The BEe quilt ” is finished and the pattern nearly done, just needs to be check out by a couple of friends. And I am looking at selling some of my smaller patterns as download patterns…. Will let you know.
It has been a long time since my last post, first a Happy New Year, lots of sewing and laughter.
After a nice break, lots being done in the garden, and I even managed to finish 2 quilts ( shall I start 2 more?).
There are few exciting news for me this year; I am going to start teaching once a month at Sewn and Quilted in Blackburn, but if you prefer you could join me in Nantes for a class at the Quiltmania Salon ” Pour l’amour du fil” or why not coming at The Quilt Shop in Eltham and learn how to make The ChOok Quilt ?
Plenty of opportunities for me to meet some of you….
P.S : my son took the picture of the blue banded bee ( native bee) on the banner

One of my favorite pattern is my “Albertine” and it would look gorgeous using modern fabrics... so for the next few weeks I’ll be posting close-up pics of my progress. You can sew along with me using similar colours. AND the pattern is available as a download in La Boutique on my website.

After last night strong winds I found a “surprise” in the veggie patch. One of the top of the redwood tree ( it had 3 after being struck by lightning 20 yrs ago) had fallen down ( from a great height😶) missing the beehives by not much 😅. It’s about 4m long and weigh a tonne. It did prune seriously my apricot tree and shattered the compost bin as well as one of the rose bush. Just relieved that the bees still have a roof... might buy a Tastlotto ticket 🍀 or am I pushing my luck ?
Something new is coming up .....register for my newsletter ( in the bio) and you will be amongst the first one to see it 🤫#quilts#libertyfabrics #garden#flowers#embroidery#gippsbearycottage #patchnquilt#sewnandquilted...
Not a dull moment here. 10 days ago I lost my favorite chook to the neighbour’s dogs ( she flew over the wrong fence😢). So we made sure it won’t happen again. 10 days of digging, building, stappling and re-arranging.... just need to add few decorations like greens😊And now back to quilting 🥳🥳
