2020 had started so well for me. We had a lovely family holiday in Singapore, my son had started university and going back into good habit ( bed before 10.30pm and less computer games). My daughter passed her certificate for rope climbing and I had workshops ( here and overseas) planned as well as few shows and then the virus.
So now I have everybody home, son goes to uni (online) in pyjamas and daughter is climbing up the walls because she cannot climb anything else !
BUT looking on the bright side instead of choosing between gardening or updating my website or sewing I can do EVERYTHING. Keep an eye on the website as I am realising some patterns as download version.
I have also have join a UFO group from Red Thread Studio in the States and the big blue quilt, started 10 years ago, might get finished. I made it before designing and writing patterns and it has been tormenting me since, as well as my daughter ( it will be hers)
My blocks for the Dutch Sew along Dutch project are done. It was an interesting experience as I am more of an appliqué person than a machine pieced one, loved some of the blocks and some not so much.
“Pêle-Mêle , the final” is nearly completed (yes!), pictures will be posted on Instagram, quite few surprises on that last one.
Patience is the keyword, we all have few projects to complete and soon the day will come when will be able to resume our day to day lives and complain about the lack of time.
In the meantime stay home and safe
A very happy New Year to all of you, wishing you health and lots of time to play with fabrics.
My resolution for this year ? Enjoy everyday and stop racing around ( if it’s possible) and most important finish a couple of UFOs…. pretty sure the due date was sometime last year.
Keep an eye on the shop as I am going to have some downloadable patterns
It seems that this year we are all going to finish some UFO …. it is in the air, and I am glad because I have one big one that needs finishing. But it doesn’t stop me from being sidetrack by few projects.
I was asked to come up with a small project for Craftpaks so here it is a preview ! If you are interested you can contact the shop.
I am also working on two new patterns but my fingers are itching to use the new gorgeous fabrics I just bought !
And Kaye from Needles and Pins just got new ones in ……. The mind boggles !
I’d better go back to my sewing room and finish something.
My Mum came over from Switzerland and stayed for a month. She brought with her lots of UFO ( as per usual). But we managed to finish them all. It was nice to see all those finished projects and she was very happy to put it back in the suitcase knowing it was done.
In the meantime I have been playing with wool felt and beads. It is something that I saw on Pinterest. I put mine on my 10$bag, I think it looks rather nice.
Now that the kids are back at school, the visitor back home I can start burning the midnight oil in order to finish all those projects. Especially “Joséphine” , April is not far away ( we have started training on hot cross buns)……
Merci Maman de m’avoir aidée et d’avoir fini mon quilt
